After being two weeks late and 45 hours of labor, this stubborn girl was born November 1st, 1995. Trust me, nothing has changed either! I grew up with my mom in a smallish town in Northern California, in between the never-ending ocean waves and the peaks of the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Being brought up by just my mom is one of the most rewarding things life has offered me. She is not only my mom but also my idol and not to mention my best friend in the whole world. It’s pretty much a real-life Gilmore Girls duo with how close we are. I’m almost 22 years old and I still text my mom goodnight every single night since my boyfriend and I moved out two years ago. That was probably one of the hardest things I ever did and we only moved across the street…..and yes I know how sad that sounds but I am 100% a momma’s girl.

I met Lee, the boyfriend, in High School and we have been together since the end of our Junior year, we actually just celebrated our five-year anniversary in June. We are the definition of High School Sweethearts and it’s not just us anymore, we are now the proud parents of a healthy 6 lb. cat named Ginger, you thought I was going to say baby huh? Fooled you! Ginger is one of the sweetest cats I have ever met and to be honest before the day he brought her home I was not a fan of cats at all. Matter of fact I wasn’t a fan of cats the day he brought her home either, I walked into the apartment and HELLO there she was. Luckily, he let me help pick the name because he had named her Cheddar before I got home. After a few hours, I was hooked and Ginger hasn’t left our sides since.

Now don’t get me wrong, I love what I do but there is something I would love to make a career out of much more. At the moment, I work at a local grocery store going through the training to become a meat cutter which is such a cool job but my true goal in life is to become my own boss and be able to say my job is blogging and hopefully one day I will pick up the courage to make my own YouTube videos. I have always been a huge YouTube fan and I have now found my all-time favorite YouTube personalities over in a town called Brighton & Hove, England. Alfie Deyes and Zoe Sugg have become such big influences in my life that I would go as far as to say they too have become my idols to look up to. Zoe inspired me to start a blog because even though she didn’t know if anyone would read it, she still wanted her own corner of the internet. I thought it would be pointless to have a blog until I heard that and realized how successful she has been in her life and how happy she is doing what she does. I always wanted to be a YouTuber but never thought my life was interesting enough but now that I watch Alfie’s Vlogs I see that he isn’t any different than the rest of us, he makes his own fun which why I find him so enjoyable to watch because it proves that anyone can do what they set their minds to. Like Alfie always says, “Do more of what makes you happy” and I now look up to another quote of his which is, “A year from now you’ll wish you started today” and this cannot be truer. Can’t forget to mention one of my favorite Zoe quotes, “Be the best version of you!” Between watching the two of them how can you not be inspired to be a more positive and happy person?

I’m thinking of giving YouTube a shot in the near future and let’s hope it goes better than expected. Keep a look out Simply Ashley followers! Before I end this short timeline, I would just like to say thank you to Kevin from Roads We Take for seeking my blog out and allowing me to tell my story. I know it hasn’t been overly exciting but I do hope that it might help people find a positive outlook on life or realize how lucky you are if you have a single parent that would do anything to make you smile and ensure that you never go without anything. In my 22 years, I have never felt like I missed out or couldn’t do anything because my mom has always been there to support me and because of that I feel like a much stronger person and I strive to be like her every single day. Thank you for reading and have a lovely day!
